We explored the idea of "building as sign" for the design of this toy store located at the intersection of I-95 and Route 7 in Norwalk, CT. The client's desire was for schemes in which the building itself would serve as an architectural enticement for mom and dad, perhaps encouraged by the kids, to make an unscheduled stop. The various design studies developed were efforts to clearly communicate the nature of the business within while utilizing inexpensive materials to create an imaginative exterior.
