South Norwalk,
Connecticut The 10,000 square foot offices for Greenfield Partners are located in a former Lock factory that has been revitalized as a mixed-use project. The raw, rugged industrial nature of the existing boiler room and adjacent foundry were celebrated in the office conversion. The perimeter offices are arranged around a central Living Room. The rusted steel fireplace at one end of the room and the cold rolled steel enclosure around the kitchen at the opposite end recall the space's mythological industrial past. The curving translucent fiberglass office walls are intended to soften the hard edges of the industrial aesthetic with a more lyrical vocabulary. The company's Board Room is located in the former boiler room, where pre-existing catwalks and one of the original boilers are preserved in the 26' high space. This space opens up to a private garden via a 12' high glass overhead door. Services |
